Due to the Corona Virus pandemic, many swim teams are taking precautions with their sizing days. For example, some areas are requiring multiple sizing days with fewer swimmers on each day to avoid exposure across many individuals at once. This is a useful approach if you are worried about large gatherings.
Regardless of how you conduct your sizing day, based on medical science, we advise the following:
1. As required by US Health Department regulations, always keep underwear on under the suit being tried on
2. Wash your hands immediately after trying on the suit
3. Do not put the suit in or near your eyes, nose, or mouth
Viruses can live on hard surfaces for up to five days, while their duration on soft surfaces such as fabric is much shorter. However, after the first person tries on the suit, there is some potential for there to be some virus on the suit, so avoiding the nose, eyes, and mouth, and washing one’s hands after contact, are important.
If your team cannot have a sizing day (or multiple, smaller sizing days), then the best way to ascertain your size in an Agon suit is to ask other members of the swim team who have worn Agon suits in the past what size they wear in Agon. If your team ordered their suits individually last year, Agon can send your team a list of all team members with each member’s size, for comparison.
If your team has never ordered suits from Agonswim.com, we strongly advise that you order a sizing kit and plan for team members to try on the suits, even if this has to be done on an individual basis. Each suit style and fabric fits slightly differently and we cannot guarantee correct sizing by measurement or using another manufacturers sizes. If there is no other option, then a best guess would be to use the standard sizes from Speedo®.
Finally, we would like to remind all swimmers that because Agon is making a custom suit for each swimmer, there is a 20% restocking fee if a suit has to be returned or cancelled for any reason.
