Fabric snagging

Below are pictures of used fabrics from 3 different manufacturers (Agon, Jolyn, and Speedo), all showing snags at two levels of magnification. Each picture was taken under a microscope to show what happens when knitted fabric snags.

The difference between Agon and the other two manufacturers is the mass-produced suits use dyed fabric, so when the threads snag (separate from the knitting) they tend to not be very noticeable because they are the same color as the suit. In the photos, the loose threads look blue/purple.

Agon uses sublimation to create custom suits, one at a time. The underlying fabric in the sublimation process is white. So, when an Agon suit snags, white thread is pulled from the knitting, which is more visible than colored thread. In the photos, the loose threads look white.

The amount of snagging is the same, but the visibility of the threads is different. This is true for all sublimated products, which represent all custom products and many prints as well.
