Face mask fabric specs

Agon masks have been designed with serious consideration for safety, protection, and comfort.

First, Agon face masks use three types of material: an outer layer of hygienic woven microfiber, an inner layer of woven organic cotton, and speedline for the trim. We provide detailed information on each type of fabric below.

Notice that the fabrics that cover the mouth are woven and not knitted, because woven fabric does not stretch like knitted fabric. When fabric stretches, it allows micro-particles to pass through the gaps in the fabric. Our dual layer of woven fabrics gives us particle filtration test results higher than 94% protection (see below).

Another aspect of our masks is their pattern and trim. Our design covers the nose completely and does not have seams than run completely across the face. Our straps, made of swimsuit material Speedline, tighten effectively to create a snug fit across the bridge of the nose, to help keep out contaminents.

Finally, the inner layer is woven organic cotton for comfort. Organic cotton will not irritate the face when worn for an extended period of time. Additionally, our straps have two way stretch for a snug, but comfortable fit.

Please note that our masks are not considered medical devices and should not be worn while swimming.

Trim: Speedline

Speedline is 47% polyester, 53% PBT (texturized polyester with natural stretch similar to spandex). Speedline weighs 170 grams per square meter. This fabric has two way stretch for comfort and to enable a snug fit across the face for good protection from contaminents.
